Welcome to the Packaging Purified Website! This informational site, created by Erin Shaotran, is meant to raise awareness about the harmful effects of excess product packaging on the environment.

In 2015, 77,920 tons of packaging containers were produced. Around 53% of this was recycled.

78 million tons of plastic packaging are produced annually, but 32% of this amount finds its way into oceans.

The packaging that was littered can take more than a million years to biodegrade. In that amount of time, it can cause deaths and illnesses to animals and people, too.
